ACUPUNCTURE/ELECTRO-ACUPUNCTURE
My main specialties are:
musculoskeletal injuries/chronic pain and emotional & psychological conditions.
Acupuncture is a holistic practice; therefore several conditions can be treated
at the same time. For insurance coverage, in most cases, a prescription is not
necessary. It is advisable that you check your insurance coverage prior to
setting up an appointment.
First office call: 90 minutes
Return visits: 50 minutes
EAR ACUPUNCTURE
Five small needles are inserted into one or both ears. I generally use this
modality for the treatment of addictions and stress. It can be incorporated into
your regular acupuncture treatment.
30-40 minute treatment
CUPPING THERAPY
Glass cups suctioned onto the skin are used to treat a wide variety of
disorders: sprains/strains, musculoskeletal pain/dysfunction, edema,
bruising/swelling, and colds/flu.
MOXIBUSTION
The herb mugwort is burned over the acupuncture needles, acu-point or above the
skin to treat conditions of weakness and cold.
TDP
HEAT THERAPY
Heat lamp therapy used for chronic pain, cold conditions, spasm and conditions
where heat is recommended.
Note: the above modalities
are often included in the cost of an acupuncture session.
FACIAL REJUVENATION ACUPUNCTURE
Twelve sessions of face/lift acupuncture performed over a period of several
months.
MASSAGE THERAPY
I have 16 years experience with injury treatment. I do a combination of
modalities: Swedish deep tissue massage and Neuromuscular Therapy trigger point
massage. Massage therapy and acupuncture are an excellent combination for injury
rehabilitation. Massage is only offered in conjunction with your acupuncture
treatment, in which case an additional 15 minutes will be added to your
appointment. Please check with your insurance company to see if you need a
prescription for massage, and if there will be two separate co-pays for massage
and acupuncture.

OTHER MODALITIES USED
During your acupuncture or EFT session I frequently use the following
modalities:
-
Muscle testing
(applied kinesology) and BodyTalk techniques to gain information about your
condition or issue.
-
For food,
substance or environmental allergies and sensitivities, I spray the
acupuncture microsystems of the ear/hand and foot with a small laser light.
This may be done repeatedly until the allergen is desensitized.
-
I use tuning
forks to stimulate additional acupuncture points or to enhance the
treatment.
-
Ion pumping
cords: these “jumper cables” are used to connect two needles in different
areas of the body.
A fee schedule is available
upon request.
To better serve you and
customize the treatment, I often give nutritional advice, suggest supplements
and/or herbal applications, suggest exercises, home therapy and stress reduction
techniques. I also recommend books and provide additional information gleaned
from years of experience in the alternative health care field.
I am a great supporter of the
“team approach” to healthcare. Not only do I support the treatments given to you
by other healthcare providers; I often make referrals if I feel there is another
practitioner who may be of benefit and assistance.
Many thanks to the "the vast
spiritual Hierarchy which silently works to uplift the human condition" -
