Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture:

Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture or acupuncture facelift is offered in many clinics in the United States. It is a cosmetic Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture acupuncture treatment that reduces the signs and symptoms of the aging process and leaves the face and body feeling revitalized and radiant. Based on the principles of Traditional Chinese Medicine, facial acupuncture can erase as many as 5 to 10 years of aging with a series of just 12 treatments. During this process many small hair-thin needles are inserted into the face. Additional needles are placed in the channels leading to the face; the arms, legs and torso. At Seattle Health Therapies, I offer a mini-version of the acupuncture face-lift treatment, which focuses on a specific condition such as:

  • Bags under the eyes · Double chins
  • Facial scars
  • Naso-labial groove lines (nose to mouth)
  • Furrow between the eyes
  • Sagging cheeks
  • Drooping eyelids
  • Lip wrinkles

A course of treatment consists of 12 treatments, administered twice a week for six weeks.  This type of mini-treatment is less invasive (less needles are used on the face), and more time and cost effective than regular full facial rejuvenation treatments.  Special health conditions related to other parts of the body may sometimes be treated during these sessions.  This will depend on various factors and will be discussed prior to treatment. Relief from other preexisting conditions often results from a mini-treatment.

In addition to your acupuncture mini-facial treatment, you may also want to schedule facial treatment with our esthetician, Marianne Pendleton, who can be contacted at: (206) 265-1477.

HISTORY
Facial Rejuvenation Acupuncture, (as it is known in the West) had its beginnings in ancient China. As far back as the Song Dynasty (960AD-1270AD) acupuncture was applied to the face to enhance the beauty of the Emperor's concubines. Since most of the acupuncture meridians begin or end on the face, it is not hard to understand how it was noticed long ago that acupuncture treatments had the benefit of warding off the aging process, specifically to the face. The use of Acupuncture in Cosmetology is widely practiced today in the countries of Japan, Hong Kong and Sweden. In 1996 it was reported in the International Journal of Acupuncture that among the 300 cases treated with facial acupuncture, 90% had marked improvement with just a few treatments.
